Green Internet Hosting

When looking for a web hosting company a few years ago, I spent some time looking for a green host. I was disappointed to find that company after company claiming to offer green hosting resorted to indirect gimmicks such as credits, offsets, and other third party mitigation schemes. I stumbled upon a small company in southern California that really earns the label "green hosting". They've put much thought into implementing numerous ways of reducing their total energy consumption, and having succeeded in that, they then are able to generate the needed electricity on-site with their own bank of solar panels.

Their name is Aiso.net. If you are interested in green hosting, you should check them out. SoftWx used them as our hosting company for a couple years, and only moved when we needed some technical features for software development that they didn't offer. We were happy with them during that time.
